The U.S. Supreme Court just announced a major victory for reproductive rights by ruling that TRAP (Targeted Regulations of Abortion Providers) laws have no merit when it comes to a woman’s right to choose. June v Russo centered on a Louisiana state law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles — a requirement which is medically unnecessary and solely intended to limit the number of clinics in the state. Even though this is a tremendous victory for reproductive rights advocates, we must continue the fight for abortion rights!
