The District Council this year are once again teaming up with The National Forest Company to make our district even greener. The offer is available to each household and community organisation within the district and there are four trees to choose from. We are encouraging community groups (environmental groups, allotment societies, wildlife groups etc) to contact us to tell us about their plans and if they have a site where they could plant a larger number of trees. All the trees are two years old and approximately 60-90cms (2 to 3 feet) high. Trees available this year: Holly (Ilex aquifolium), Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea), Field maple (Acer campestre), or Elder (Sambucus nigra).
